Soil inspection with MIP probes in the harbour of Antwerp

The study office Ecorem asked Geosonda Environment to carry out an extended soil inspection, whereby a combination of drilling works and MIP probes was used for delimiting deep BTEX and VOCl contaminations in the harbour terrains of Antwerp. This inspection was part of a European project, which was carried out under close cooperation with several domestic and foreign partners of the ordering party (amongst others from Sweden, Spain and Czechoslovakia).

After delimitation, an injection of reagents was applied for remediating the contamination, using an on-site chemical oxidation (ISCO) process.
